Mission Statement

Elgin-St. Thomas Community Foundation’s Mission is “To strengthen the community for the benefit of all by fostering the growth of community philanthropy; giving opportunities to benefactors to leave a lasting legacy for future generations; building and prudently managing community endowments; and addressing the needs of the community through strategic grant making and organizational support”.

We do this primarily by building and managing endowed funds that are invested into perpetuity and granting a portion of the income on those investments to local charities.

There are a wide range of services and Fund Designations that allow the flexibility to design an endowment fund that captures your unique vision,…..or donors can simply contribute to any existing Fund.
